Top questions

Connected Voice with Air-Line lets you use your regular home phone to make calls over the internet. This lets you enjoy the benefits of modern internet calling without needing to buy a new phone or internet service.

Here's how it works:

1. Connect: You simply plug your home phone into the Air-Line adapter.

2. Set up: The Air-Line adapter connects to your phone service provider, allowing your home phone to make and receive calls over the internet via a cellular connection.

3. Convert: The Air-Line adapter changes the voice signals from your phone into digital signals that can travel over the internet, and vice versa.

Connected Voice with Air-Line offers several great benefits:

1. Cost savings: By using your regular home phone to make calls over the internet, you can save money on your phone bills. Internet calling often has lower rates, especially for long-distance and international calls.

2. Convenience: You don't need to buy a new phone or internet service. Air-Line lets you keep using your existing home phone, making the transition to internet calling smooth and hassle-free.

3. Reliability: Air-Line allows you to make calls even during a power outage, when connected to a battery backup.

Connected Voice with Air-Line offers all the features of traditional telephone (like caller ID, call waiting, voicemail, anonymous call block, etc.), plus more advanced features not available with most traditional telephone services, including mobility, voicemail to email, and email notifications.

You don't need a traditional internet connection to use Air-Line. The Air-Line adapter uses a cellular LTE connection to provide an internet connection for VoIP calls. This means you can still make and receive calls over the internet even if you don't have a wired internet connection at home or in the office. The LTE connection ensures that you stay connected and can enjoy the benefits of internet calling wherever you have LTE coverage.

Yes. You will have the option to transfer your current number if it is not a CenturyLink number. When you are transferring (or "porting"), a number, after submitting your order, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to complete the process.

Your current voicemail box will be deleted when you transfer service to Connected Voice. This includes both greetings and messages.

If you have voicemail greetings or messages which you would like to save, you will need to record them before your service is moved to Connected Voice.

To save a message:
1. Access your voicemail
2. Open the saved message
3. Record the message to a personal recording device during playback

The Air-Line adapter is leased to you for no extra charge. You will see the adapter lease on your monthly invoice for $0.00.

Please note that you must return the adapter when you disconnect service to avoid an unreturned equipment fee.

If you lose power, your phone service will still work if you are using a battery backup. Battery backup is available for an additional fee. This ensures that your Air-Line adapter remains operational during a power outage.

Please note that cordless handsets require AC power to function, so they could be interrupted during a power outage. To maintain phone service, you can use a corded phone that doesn't rely on AC power or a cordless phone that can be charged.

  • No LTE connection
  • No power to the device or cordless phone
  • A defective handset

If you're having this problem, and have ruled out a power or handset issue, please contact us for assistance.

Poor call quality can be caused by various factors such as network congestion, interference, or issues with the Air-Line adapter. Additionally, LTE cellular signal can be affected by building structure, so moving the adapter to an exterior wall or window could improve signal quality.

If you require further assistance, contact support for a detailed diagnosis and solution.

You should only perform a factory reset at the direction of tech support to avoid any unintended issues. There is a reset button on the back of the device.

If the LED light for the LTE connection is not on, it means the Air-Line adapter is not connecting to the internet. To ensure the best quality service and signal, it's recommended to place the adapter near a window or an outside wall.
